Let's talk about Full Stack Engineering

... a little bit about yourself?

I am Diogo, 23 years old and started working for kununu roughly 3 years ago. I was born in a smaller city from Porto and became passionate about IT at college, and now I am glad for being able to keep on learning and working in this area. Recently started playing padel which also started with kununu friends.

What do you enjoy most about working as a Full Stack Engineer at kununu?

What I enjoy the most working as a Full Stack Engineer is being able to do features from one end to the other and enjoying watching features come to life by myself.

How would you describe the working atmosphere in your team?

I love that is so easy to coordinate our job within the teams and that our opinion is listened even if I am a Junior.

Can you share insights on a recent project you worked on as a Full Stack Engineer?

I enjoyed working on graphs for profile-views, which allows our costumers to easily see their traffic on their kununu pages. It was also a migration project which was kind of difficult which made me learn so much.

What were the biggest challenges you faced during this project?

Both understanding how things were before in order not to break anything and also getting to work with new tools, in this case for graphs creation.

What role does collaboration play in Full Stack Development at kununu?

The fact that in difficult times I can help my team in backend and/or frontend depending on what the team needs, that makes me feel more useful.

What tools and technologies do you use for version control, collaboration, and task management?

Github 

What is the next big project you are working on? Are there any interesting challenges ahead?

The next big Project, the challenge will be to release each phase at the right timing and also, since we will be working on an existing feature, to make sure that the existing feature works 100% of the time.

And finally, in what ways kununu supports the work-life balance of its employees?

In every aspect possible . Firstly, there are things that the company provided to me and I’ve never had before, such as, flight an airplane, paintball, lasertag… Also the possibility to work from home any day I want.
